My Story
I started out studying mechanical engineering at MIT and after graduation worked in the field for 15 years.
But I've always loved the written word. So I combined that with my techie background and became
"The engineer who writes."
Since the early 90s, I've done technical writing and written/ghostwritten trade-magazine articles in a variety
of scientific, technical and business disciplines, including heat transfer, manufacturing, analytical chemistry,
human resources, finance.
As a reporter and tech writer, I've developed the interviewing skills needed to acquire information from
subject matter experts, face-to-face or on the telephone, making the experience relatively painless—
even enjoyable—for all concerned.
I'm accustomed to learning about new technologies from scratch and then writing with the authority of
the experts who taught me. The result? Text that makes the topic clear to the uninitiated yet still
interesting to those who know something about the topic.
Since 2005, I've been freelancing full time, currently from my home office in St Petersburg, Florida.
Get in touch and let's see how I can help your customers understand and appreciate your products.
